A century ago, physicist Niels Bohr revealed the key to the microworld: the constitution of the atom. Bohr's model of the nuclear atom challenged conventional thinking and models. His ability to consider several conflicting theories, and challenge those of other renown physicists - such as Einstein and Planck - while tolerating many ambiguities, is what tested and strengthened his model.
